Schantz - 3M/34R

Easley Presbyterian Church is located in Easley, South Carolina, near the metro area of Greenville.  The church's Schantz pipe organ was installed in 1985 after the church suffered a fire, causing extensive damage to the sanctuary.  The 3-manual and 34-rank organ has remained a core fixture to the church's music program under the direction of Dr. Ralph Boggess, Music Director.  The organ has served the needs of the church well, but problems plagued the console soon after its installation.  In recent years several emergency calls were required to correct issues prior to major services and concerts.   In late 2007, a benefactor came to the forefront and made possible the consideration of console renovations, upgrades and expansions.

In early 2008, the console was removed and shipped to our located in Norcross, Georgia, for a complete renovation.  A new relay and capture system was installed with a record/playback system for teaching and rehearsals.  The console now features a 100-memory-level capture system with Solid State Organ Systems "Any Piston Next" piston sequencer. The piston sequencer is a feature often favored by professional organists during large complex services and recitals.  When engaged, the sequencer allows the organist to use any general or divisional piston as the up piston in the piston sequencer.

Work also included upgrading the wiring system to current National Electric Code Standards.

A new 16' Pommer stop was added to Pedal Division to reinforce the current 16' Pedal flutes.  The stop was installed as a façade to the Choir and Swell chambers

The work was completed in June of 2008.
