Woodward Academy is a private school in south Metro Atlanta. In 2003, the school was the recipient of a Reuter pipe organ donated by Sylvan Hills Baptist Church upon their closing. This dovetailed wonderfully into a project of renovating the Gresham Hall Chapel at Woodward Academy. The school has enjoyed a very active music program for several years. As they moved forward to make the Chapel better for acoustics and choral concerts, the organ offered another dimension in the music program. Since the organ’s scales and size were a good match for Woodward’s Chapel, we became directly involved with the architects and music department on the necessary planning for the organ space. In 2003, we removed the organ to our facility for complete rebuilding and additions. The organ has grown from 21 ranks to 30 ranks. The new additions were scaled to complement the tonal philosophy of the existing Reuter. The installation was completed in 2005.
